When they returned, they settled on Chicago’s North Shore, and opened Cramer Custom Upholstery in Spanish Court. At the time, Spanish Court was in unincorporated territory – it later became part of Wilmette, IL. Mr. Cramer’s business remained in Spanish Court (now named Plaza del Lago) through the 1970s. A second store, opened in Hubbard Woods and remained on Linden from 1960 until 1994. Here is a picture of his older daughter Sharon outside the first store, in 1950.
